The role of the SDG team is to gather information on the activities undertaken by Ministries and development partners towards progressing work on the SDGs at the national level. The Team is guided by Fiji’s 5-Year and 20-Year National Development Plan (NDP) and other relevant Acts and Policies which outline action plans for accelerating work on the UN Global Agenda and achieving the 17 SDGs by 2030.
The SDG Team is also responsible for the preparation of SDG high level reporting, monitoring and evaluation of SGDs and establishment of a SDG National Database system in close collaboration with stakeholders.
The first review of Fiji’s progress on the achievement of the SDGs was in 2019. The results are available in the Fiji Voluntary National Review (VNR) Report. Fiji’s VNR is a comprehensive review of the implementation of the UN Global Agenda and its 17 SDGs.
