Building Resiliency and Sustainable development through intergrated island ecosystem managanment on Vatoa Island
Objectives: a) To conduct community Climate Change Awareness for the Islanders on Vanuavatu to improve understanding on changes occurring within their environment and the importance of developing and implementing a long term community adaptation plan. b) To promote sustainable land use and water management practices on Vanuavatu through community training, demonstration, technology transfer and capacity building. c) To promote long term sustainable development on Vanuavatu within the context of an Island Development Plan, making clear considerations for adaptation and disaster risk reduction prioritized in Specific Objectives and enabling sustainable livelihoods and income through an integrated approach to island natural resource management.

Objectives: To combat land degradation and mitigate its effects through the enhancement of SLM capacities into planning, development and utilization of land
Objectives: First, the activities of the project will bring adaptation to climate change into the normal processes of national and sectoral planning and budgeting. This is also known as 'mainstreaming'. Secondly, the project will increase the capacity of communities to adapt to climate-related risks and reduce their vulnerabilities.
