Objectives:
1. To enhance the seismic safety of schools through retrofitting of school buildings, disaster education and training of teachers and students._x000D_
2. To build safer communities through demonstration of school retrofitting, training of masons and technicians, community workshop, and educational campaigns._x000D_
3. To disseminate a culture of safe schools and safe communities through regional and international workshops.
Objectives: The expected impact of the project is the provision by regional stakeholders of coherent support to the DRR efforts of national governments to address more effectively cross-border/regional DRR challenges. The project will prepare a comprehensive overview of regional DRR interventions that is presented in the wider context of the regional disaster risk profile of Asia and Pacific. _x000D_
Objectives: Advance the Hyogo Framework for Action (HFA) goals by facilitating knowledge sharing in the Asia Pacific region. _x000D_

Component 1 of the project will help in effective planning, programming, and cooperation and collaboration of DRR projects and programmes, which is essential for governments, organisations and donors involved in implementing and supporting DRR projects and programmes in the region.
Objectives: The project aims to develop and pilot a methodology to examine the microeconomic and macroeconomic linkages between poverty and disaster vulnerability in Pacific island countries and to understand the extent to which these variables are inter-dependent. The methodology will be piloted in Fiji with the aim of subsequent application across the region._x000D_
Objectives: Re-establishment of 6 water-level and rainfall stations in the Rewa catchment, commissioning of Flosys telemetry and a flood forecasting model._x000D_
