The Adaptation team of the Climate Change Division is responsible for coordinating Fiji’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP), facilitating institutional coordination for adaptation actions to accelerate resource mobilization, and deliver effective and sustainable adaptation options for all Fijians. Fiji’s NAP seeks to build climate adaptive capacity and resilience integrating them into policies, programmes, and processes across all prioritized sectors.
The Government of Fiji initiated the National Adaptation Plan as a climate resilient pathway for public, private, civil society stakeholders and development partners to address prioritized adaptation needs across all sectors. This ensures that climate change adaptation actions and resources address the most pressing vulnerabilities and needs.
The Adaptation team is responsible for thematic areas including planned relocation of climate-impacted communities, Comprehensive Risk Vulnerability Assessments, National Adaptation Registry, Adaptation Surveys and Adaptation Impact Analysis. The below infographic spotlights key activities under the Climate Adaptation portfolio, and the link to the CCD GIS Platform.
