Given the rise in plastic litter all around the globe and specifically in the Pacific it is important that bold actions are taken to minimise this problem and maybe eradicate it in the near future. Hence, Fiji is taking a leap into protecting our environment and banning the use of all single-use plastics. Most people litter plastics into the environment without knowing that it eventually ends up in the food web when it is ingested by marine organisms. Therefore, the ban of single-use plastics is vital in the protection of our environment and the human health as well.
