Climate Change

The images in this gallery highlight different climate change impacts, captured by freelance photographers. Climate change is one of the greatest barriers to sustainable development. It puts Fiji’s biodiversity and ecosystems, particularly marine and coastal, at risk.

COP26

At COP26 Fiji showcased its ability as a small nation to support negotiations in relation to climate change mitigation and adaptation. Fiji is a leading climate advocate for Small Island Developing States (SIDS) in global forums. Fiji is consistently urging developed countries to provide innovative finance to help the developing world cope with the impacts of climate change. The COP26 (2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference) was held in Glasgow, Scotland from 31 October to 12 November 2021.
